Marketing Operations Manager—Marketo Lead Management

The Marketing Operations Manager is responsible for using process, analytics, and technology to drive, measure and optimize marketing’s impact on revenue. The Marketing Operations Manager develops early stage leads into sales-ready opportunities, including all aspects of lead management operations such as lead nurturing and lead scoring using Marketo’s solution. The Marketing Operations Manager also supports measurement and optimization across all of Marketo’s marketing programs. This position is based in San Mateo, CA and reports to the Director of Demand Generation.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a world-class expert in using Marketo’s solutions for sophisticated lead management, sales insight, and pipeline analytics
  • Meet or exceed a monthly quota for developing leads into sales-ready opportunities
  • Support the sales development representatives with campaigns, templates, and “sales plays” that add the human touch to lead development
  • Deliver world-class reporting and analytics that show how marketing programs impact revenue; define and track key metrics, develop dashboards, deliver ad-hoc analyses as needed
  • Drive testing and optimization into all aspects of our marketing
  • Provide recommendations for marketing strategy and tactics based on testing and analysis
  • Assist in planning, tracking and analyzing the marketing budget
  • Stay on the cutting edge of marketing best practices by gathering and filtering new ideas from customers, colleagues and other experts; communicate and share best practices with customers and prospects directly and over social media
  • Contribute to product development by sharing your needs and requirements with product management

Related Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from top school in Marketing, Economics, Math, Science, Statistics or related field; MBA strongly preferred
  • World class analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to decompose complex problems and processes into smaller pieces
  • Ability to turn data into marketing intelligence and action-oriented analysis
  • Ability to think critically and communicate complex information
  • Proven initiative with the ability to manage competing priorities and define own workload while meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Minimum three years in demand generation or marketing operations position, software-as-a-service marketing experience preferred
  • Prior experience with marketing automation, CRM, and analytics technology preferred but not required
