Senior Director of Marketing Effectiveness—LexisNexis

The Sr Director of Marketing Effectiveness will be responsible for maximizing global Return on Marking Investment and optimizing key elements that drive ROMI – customer targeting and segmentation, lead management (via world-class planning and execution of marketing campaigns) and performance analytics that inform our plans “real-time”. S/he will also maximize our overall CRM and campaign management capabilities, as well as advise on fundamental processes between Marketing and Sales that are needed to improve lead conversion. The Sr Director will design and implement the plan to accomplish these goals globally, with options ranging from “internal consulting” to individual countries on best practice, to creating and managing a global CRM database. The position reports to the VP of Global Marketing Strategy.

Accountabilities:

  • Assesses Marketing effectiveness capabilities by country/business unit; designs and prioritizes plan to address working with country/BU CMO’s, and Global Marketing team
  • Creates and maintains toolkit of best practices, including simple “start-up” approach for countries with currently limited CRM capabilities
  • Acts as a thought leader on Marketing effectiveness helping countries to understand and frame how to improve their effectiveness (e.g. campaign design and tracking approaches, database build and design, etc.)
  • Benchmarks and monitors overall marketing performance; defines and maintains a Marketing dashboard including assisting countries in creating goals (e.g. via benchmarks, historical analysis) and creating consistent definition of metrics
  • Performs more complex performance analytics for individual countries to assess areas to improve (e.g. lead funnel analysis, impact of lead nurturing, etc.); develops and shares approaches to test campaign performance (design, analysis and reporting)
  • Shows countries how to build and maintain targeted, robust databases that lead to better quality “lists” for Marketing and Sales
  • Evaluates the advisability/feasibility of building Global database and creates a plan to achieve if recommended (including required resources, potential cost savings, etc.)
  • Designs and executes broadscale, simple training on optimizing return on direct marketing programs; where needed, designs training on using CRM systems

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA with at least 12 years of either B2B (strongly preferred) or B2C (relationship-based) Marketing experience
  • Experience in large scale CRM initiatives, including designing and structuring databases, gaining agreement within Marketing and Sales on critical process, and selecting/implementing systems
  • Experience in Marketing dashboard development, marketing performance measurement tools, and process mapping
  • Familiarity with Eloqua, Aprimo, Siebel or other campaign management tools/technology
  • Highly numerate with strong quantitative analytical skills and the ability to structure and simplify analyses for others
  • Experience in a global or “internal consulting” role strongly preferred
  • Highly results-oriented outlook – the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives
  • Experience successfully creating change in a working in a highly matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to form relationships and build trust quickly

Location:

Prefer NYC metro area but willing to relocate for the right candidate.
