Manager, Marketing Operations—F5 Networks
This position is responsible for the capture, analysis, and dissemination of marketing information, including performance metrics, budgets, and program recommendations and for the systems and processes that help generate this information in a systematic, predictable fashion. This position will calculate and analyze the conversion of marketing programs investment into revenue contribution for F5. This position drives both visibility into – and productivity for – the marketing organization, which in turn benefits the functions that work with marketing on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies
- Management duties include the supervision of exempt and/or nonexempt level staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, conducting performance improvement plans, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions
- Capture and replicate best practices across the organization, drive compliance and increase productivity within disparate business units and/or geographies. Problem solve causes for program underachievement. Requires close alignment with sales operations / sales readiness teams help to ensure these processes are created collaboratively with sales as required
- Gain and maintain consensus about what should be measured and how across executive functions, sales, sales operations, and finance. Establish and maintain a reporting structure and process that is both meaningful to and credible for finance and sales
- Develop and deliver consistent, credible metrics and dashboards that demonstrate marketing return on investment. Will require integration, synthesis, cleansing and analysis of data from a multitude of sources, functions, databases, platforms and tools
- Manage the customer and prospect marketing database. Create nurture marketing programs to maximize revenue potential with the customer base. Establish control mechanisms for regulating touch frequency with the database. Maintain opt-out requirements
- Create and refine the lead flow process between F5 Marketing and Sales to maximize revenue potential. Establish scoring requirements, sales acceptance of leads, conversion metrics, and required lead volume to meet revenue objectives
- Build and maintain systems that gather and process data. Evaluate the capabilities of present systems and data sources (e.g. SFDC, Vtrendz, etc); collect key requirements from target audiences (product, sales and marketing decision makers); and identify gaps between current systems and requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Related Experience & Education:
- 5+ years in a strong analytical/management support role
- Experience in marketing or sales operations is strongly preferred
- Budget accountability
- Expertise in use of IT systems and tools to access and analyze data
- Strong excel knowledge (pivot tables, formulas, analysis of trends, create graphics to show metrics, present in PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the IT industry desirable
- BA/BA degree or equivalent
- MBA preferred
- Strong ability to work cross-functionally and cross-regionally
- Ability to liaise at all levels
- Ability to assimilate technical knowledge
- Good communicator/networker
